I’m kind of shocked by how dumb all of the national (not local) recaps of the Nebraska Senate Primary are

nesbittslimesoda:

There are already comparisons to Sharon Angle and Richard Mourdock being
flung at Deb Fischer. I honestly don’t think she’s a walking liability
(Bruning) or a power-hungry but ultimately unlikable pol (Stenberg.) The
Sarah Palin endorsement doesn’t really mean all that much in a
lowest-common-denominator race, and Fischer’s record in the Unicameral is
of someone willing to, say, make sure roads get built, which is a lot more
than can be said of most people in the current political environment. I
mean, that said, I still hope Bob Kerrey pulls it off, but Fischer isn’t
going to become some weird Christine O’Donnell meltdown, and isn’t exactly
Tea Party tried and true.

Also, again, to the attention of no one because we love narrative, Fischer spent 1/10 of all the money in the race. Because money rules politics.
