Mitt Romney and Barack Obama never met to discuss the federal health care law, but Romney’s advisers did. New records reviewed by NBC News’s Michael Isikoff point out that ”White House officials had a dozen meetings in 2009 with three health-care advisers and experts who helped shape the health care reform law signed by Romney in 2006.” One meeting, NBC News reports, “was in the Oval Office and presided over by Barack Obama.” Jon Gruber, one of the advisers who attended the Obama meeting, said that the White House ”really wanted to know how we can take that same approach we used in Massachusetts and turn that into a national model.” Especially in light of Perry’s recent “Romney Remedy” ad, Romney is distancing himself from Gruber like an embarrassing ex, as aides have tried to suggest Gruber wasn’t a really an adviser to Romney. It’s like they’re not even pretending anymore.
Also important: Cain believes banks may have had “something to do with the crisis in 2008,” but hey, he says, we’re not in 2008 anymore! “We’re in 2011! Okay?” No. That’s not OK.

Anonymous Announces Next Target: The New York Stock Exchange
This past weekend, as #OccupyWallSt entered its third week in existence, the “hack-tivist” group Anonymous declared war on the New York Stock Exchange, threatening to “erase NYSE from the Internet.”
In a video, posted to the TheAnonMessage Youtube channel, the an electronic voice warns that, “On Oct. 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On Oct. 10, expect a day that will never, ever be forgotten.”
The threats come on the heels of another Anonymous declaration, although the earlier release was directed at the NYPD in retaliation for their mass arrests and reports of brutality against #OccupyWallSt protesters.
The new Anonymous video, and a transcript, are below
Greetings, institutions of the media.
We are Anonymous.
The events transpiring within Wall Street have caught our eye.
It seems that the government and federal agencies enjoy enforcing the law a little bit too much. They instate unjust laws as mindless automatons, blindly following orders with soulless precision.
We witness the government enforcing the laws that punish the 99 percent while allowing the 1 percent to escape justice, unharmed, for their crimes against the people.
We have observed this same government failing to enforce even the minimal legal restraints of Wall Street’s abuses. This government who has willingly ignored the greed at Wall Street has even bailed out the perpetrators that have caused our crisis.
We will not stand by and watch the system take over our way of life.
We the people shall stand against the government’s inaction.
We the people will not be witnesses to your corruption and ill-gotten profits.
We will not labor for your leisure.
We will not assist you in any way.
This is why we choose to declare our war against the New York Stock Exchange. We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit.
We will show the world that we are true to our word. On Oct. 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On Oct. 10, expect a day that will never, ever be forgotten.
Vox Populi, Vox Anon.
The Voice of The People is The Voice of Anonymous.
We are Legion. We are the 99 percent.
We do not forgive. We do not forget.

This summer, Goldman said that it would wring out $1.2 billion in costs from its operations by mid-2012 and cut roughly 1,000 jobs, about 3 percent of its work force. But as the market turmoil has weighed on trading and other businesses in recent weeks, senior executives have been debating even deeper reductions, according to people briefed on the matter who were not authorized to speak publicly.
Along with the possibility of additional layoffs, the firm is expected to reduce employee pay, much of which is handed out later in the year.

A proposed law introduced to Congress last week would end extensive punishment for people who transmit HIV to others.
Called the Repeal HIV Discrimination Act, the law will call for repeal of laws that essentially criminalize people with HIV in various ways. As of now, 34 states have laws criminalizing exposure to or nondisclosure of HIV, with a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and/or registration as a sex offender.
From HIV Plus Magazine:
In Ohio, for example, it is unlawful for an HIVer to engage in sexual acts before disclosing their HIV status to a sexual partner.
“This bill gives a lot of people hope,” Tracy Johnson, 23, told Housing Works. ”These laws have made me feel like I’m a criminal because I have this illness. Even if I disclose, I know I can still be arrested if my partner gets mad at me and tells the police I didn’t do so.”Thoughts?
“FB PAC will give our employees a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected,” said a spokesman via email.
This couldn’t possibly end badly at all…
I don’t know whats wrong with Facebook being realistic. Google wants to destroy it just like Microsoft wanted to destroy Google (as they are trying right now). Facebook also needs to make money to re-pay investors, which it won’t be able to do is constrained by others.
