"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong."

— Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, introducing President Obama at a rally in Michigan.

The GOP/Tea Party war on the American worker is before us. It’s time to stand with your fellow workers and fight back. (via liberalsarecool)

I like to read this as Zombie Jimmy Hoffa rising from the dead to help Obama out. Shit’s gone so far, folks are rolling so hard, they’re waking up.

interestingly people coming back from the dead to vote is exactly what the Unions (and America ftr) need.

That’s because the head of the group that sponsors the Wausau Labor Day Parade, the Marathon County Central Labor Council, is telling Republican lawmakers from the area that they’re not welcome Sept. 5.

“Usually they’ve been in the parade, but it seems like they only want to stand with us one day a year, and the other 364 days they don’t really care,” said Randy Radtke, president of the council.

Go, Wausau.

Way to go hate! Let’s keep breeding that hate.

really?  hate?  how about honesty?  the gop chose their stance and held a hard line.  they should be acountable for their actions.

Hate is hate brother.

Care to expand on that? You can’t just keep throwing around the word “hate” like it means something objectively negative. I see no problem in hating the shitbag Wisconsin republican representatives after all they have done to fuck the working class over and over again.

-Joe

This actually makes sense to me. This isn’t the Fourth of July parade or the Memorial Day parade, it’s the LABOR Day parade, and most Wisconsin Republicans have proven over the last year that they could give a shit about labor. They’re not even hiding it behind euphemisms, they’re just straight out vilifying unions and public employees for wanting a decent wage and benefits that the labor movement worked so hard for. So, no. No parade for you.

Can’t we compromise and have a second holiday the anti-labor day and the Republicans can march in it?

oh god look at the venomous HATE! its so visceral, they won’t let the guy from the Real World march in the parade! how on earth will comity win and our Republic function if people that want to get rid of Unions aren’t allowed to march in a celebration of Unions!

Maybe if CPAC lets AFSME set up a booth.

Don’t forget about Wisconsin today, guys: Today is a pivotal day in the state’s history, with six Republican state senators facing recall elections today. Two Democrats face a recall election a week from now. As a result, tons of money has flowed into the state in recent weeks — far more than one usually sees for elections of this nature. Depending on how things go, this could set the stage for the state’s future. As you might remember, Scott Walker kinda pissed off a lot of people earlier this year for his thus-far successful attacks on unions. We’ll keep an eye on the votes tonight.

Senate districts 2, 8, 10, 14, 18, and 32, GET OUT AND VOTE
Here’s a district map
